Here they are: I like my broth a little on the thicker side, so I used 1 1/4 cups chicken broth instead. I substituted potatoes instead of peas; cut them up into about the same size as the sliced carrots AND added them at the same time as the carrots… they turned out so soft and tender in the end! I also added a tablespoon of minced garlic in the beginning to add more flavor. But based on the numerous comments I saw about the biscuits, the biggest change I’m glad I made was the SIZE of the biscuits I put in. I broke the biscuits up into about the size of gnocchi pasta, and rolled them into little balls. Took 2 hours to cook in the crockpot and turned out perfect!!! My husband was a huge fan and I’m looking forward to making this recipe again.5 stars

Hi Deana, it should be ok! Veggies might just be really soft!

Is it ruined now?

My entire family loves it, as do my in-laws. I double the recipe so there are plenty of leftovers for them. I do double the herbs though as I love flavor.5 stars

Hi Johnathan, we’re sorry to hear you didn’t love the extra seasonings we added to this recipe. You can absolutely season to your own tastes, but we recommend trying the recipe as written before passing judgment!

Add poultry seasoning. Cream of celery and parsley. No rosemary. No thyme. It’s chicken and dumplings not chicken noodle soup.

Very easy and very good! I used fresh thyme and 2 big sprigs of fresh rosemary, cream of chicken soup with herbs. The broth flavor was delicious. I used a bag of frozen mixed vegetables rather than a carrot and peas. I used a packet of bisquick buttermilk biscuits mix, added some dried Italian seasoning for more flavor, cooked biscuits and veggies on high for 2 hours, low for one hour. Husband loved it. Great recipe and I will definitely make it again.5 stars

I’m so glad I did, cooked on high & added dumplings the last 2 hours of cooking. I added about 1 cup of frozen mixed vegetables replacing the peas. Will definitely make this again!4 stars

Hi Jess, the cooking times are broad because all crockpots are a little bit different! We encourage everyone to watch carefully the first time making a new crockpot recipe and make note of what times work for them personally. It sounds like yours needed a bit more time in both cooking steps!
